Notice of Special Meeting

For the purpose of Nominations for Branch Officers

As required by the National Constitution of the NALC, nominations for elected offices must be done no less than 45 days before the election (Article 5 section 4 Pg 70).  The bylaws of Branch 111 NALC, require the nominations take place at the October meeting every third year (Article 4 section 3).  Because of the Regional Assembly being in Olympia Washington, from October 5 thru October 10 2008, the senior branch leadership will be attending the Regional Assembly and will be out of town for the October meeting.

According to the bylaws, two meetings a year can be cancelled by the approval of the membership.  The bylaws also provide for a special meeting to be called upon written request of 25 members in good standing  (Article 5 section 2).

The Branch 111, NALC Executive Board has agreed to cancel the meeting on the 2nd Thursday of the month (October 9, 2008), upon approval of the membership and have a special meeting on Friday (October 3, 2008) at 7 pm, for the purpose of nominations, designating this as the October meeting in compliance with the bylaws and the NALC Constitution for the Government of Subordinate and Federal Branches.
