Arlynn Venema is showing his kids the bag full of candy that he scrambled for.  How he got the candy was the fun part of the day.

Here, John Groves prepares bags and boxes full of candy to be distributed to the kids, young and old, that attended the family picnic.

How he distributes it, is unique.

Kids, big and small, young and old (hi Arlynn), waited with their sacks to get as much candy as possible.

Then the moment arrived.

But John started to run away!

Oh No!!!!

The candy blew up!

Wait

Look up in the sky!  Is it a bird?  Is it a plane?  No!

It's a sky full of candy.

And it is headed our way.

DUCK...   RUN...   Push Arlynn out of the way...

Scamble.

They say - what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

More likely these people are going to die of tooth decay rather than being shot by candy.

Then it was time to load up and fire again.

Don't fire until you see the whites of their candy bags.

When it looked like everyone had enough, John loaded up and blasted them again.

It almost looked like they enjoyed being shot at?

P6200174.jpg (20074 bytes) It was hard to tell who had more fun (young or old).   Everyone had a smile, a laugh, and a good time.

Comparing the contents of sacks was also an important part of the day.

More fun, more talk, more friendships made....
